As of late, Wikidot.com and it's CEO pieterh have begun focusing more on the features that wikidotans want to see added to their service. In particular I refer to the Wikidot blog, and the post Giant Imaginary Robots that was posted on the 2nd of July.

Introducing… *drumroll please* blog-template.wikidot.com *end drumroll*

For all Wikidot members creating their first website, they are faced with a very generic, outdated template to start working with.

Experienced Wikidot members are faced with the same template, and generally the first thing they do is to alter the appearance to something more suitable, hide the pages they don't need, and edit the main page to delete all of that "newbie-friendly" text.

Well, that is soon about to change. The blog template linked above is just the beginning of a range of new templates designed to help showcase what the Wikidot software is capable of doing. And there's a lot more where that came from. Wikidot is so much more flexible.

If you haven't created your first website or blog yet, do it now. I can even help you set up the very same template I am talking about, if that's what you want.

What will it take for you to create your own website or community wiki at Wikidot.com?
