I think I remember reading that one of the M3 slot-2 carts is compatible and supported by the CycloDS, even though TC focuses on the 3-in-1 a bit more. Does this sound familiar to anyone else, or am I just making this up? Hard to check with TC forums being inaccessible.
Several other slot-2 solutions are still on the wishlist for compatibility, so I assume that means they are 100% incompatible at the current point in time. Once again, without access to the forums I can't access any additional info on this.
And, is the 3-in-1 considered to be a flashcart in it's own right? It seems to require a slot-1 cart to be used at the same time, so technically I'd call it a flash cartridge "accessory". Sure, it works on it's own to play games, but the slot-1 is required to load the game into NOR memory in the first place.

Well, I have an M3 Perfect, a Supercard and an EZFlash IV. All of them are the miniSD versions that are full GBA-sized carts. They all work fine with the CycloDS. I can boot any of them in NDS or GBA mode from the CycloDS menu. For some reason, the EZF has issues going into NDS mode sometimes, but I think that's the EZF itself and not the CycloDS. I have been able to DLDI patch the Opera Web Browser to work with each of them and use the memory of the slot2 cart so it would work. I know NeoDS will use the Supercard and M3's memory automatically as an extra file cache, never tested that on the EZF though.
Is flashing GBA games/homebrew from slot1 to a dedicated slot2 what you were talking about? I never tried that. Since they are dedicated slot2 carts (unlike the 3in1), I don't need to flash GBA roms to their memory from the slot1 cart. I already have them loaded up with whatever games/homebrew I wanted on them. Each cart has it's own 2gig SD with hundreds of games/apps/emulators pre-loaded into it.

Thanks, useful to know that they all work.
You raise a good point: what does "compatible" mean? Does it simply mean that the slot-2 cart can be launched via the CycloDS, or does it mean that I can flash games to it from a microSD in the slot-1 cart.
I suppose for this FAQ, both would need to be covered. Probably, a list of the most popular slot-2 carts and what can/can not be done would be the best way to answer the question. I'll add what you've mentioned so far Rayder.

Please review what I've added to the page, and make sure it's all correct as far as what you've tested yourself. It's possible I misunderstood part of your post, as I've never used any of those three devices myself.

I have a suggested workaround for the EZFlash 4/CycloDS compatability.
As mentioned by Rayder, the slot-2 booting has issues. Often it just goes to a white screen, or a black screen, when you try to load from Slot2 in NDS mode.
There are 2 things I can offer up to help people - a way of guaranteeing successful booting in NDS mode, and a warning to people with the Cyclo/EZ4 combo.
Firstly, I have found a way of getting the EZFlash 4 to boot up in NDS mode every time. I don't know why this works, but it does.
Step 1: With CycloDS in Slot1 and EZF4 in Slot2, turn on your DS
Step 2: go to the settings/options for CycloDS, go down the bottom, set GBA Support to "Disabled", return to the menu, and turn off the DS.
Step 3: Turn it back on, go to the menu, set GBA Support to Enabled, then at the top of the menu choose to load from Slot2 in NDS mode.
Secondly, a warning. I strongly recommend you leave GBA Support DISABLED whenever possible.
The CycloDS supports running .gba files in the CycloDS's normal menu system (allowing you to choose a .gba file on your CycloDS's microSD card, rather than having to boot into your slot2 device and run it from there).
It does this by "silently" copying that program onto the temporary flash space of the Slot-2 card, and silently booting into the slo2 device and into that program.
However, this support is optimised for the EZFlash 3-in-1, not the EZFlash 4.
If you run a .gba file on yuor CycloDS while an EZFlash 4 is plugged in, the CycloDS will silently overwrite and corrupt the NDS portion of your EZFlash 4's firmware, requiring you to reflash your EZFlash 4.
So don't do it!
If you try to run a .gba file on your CycloDS through the menu, it wi
The CycloDS "supports" GBA-support programs in a very specific way that is optimised for the EZFlash 3-in-1.
