good question ShadowValentine. i think if you have a red boarder around them (like the dark red below the site name) it should look really good.

would everyone like me to make a few different buttons than the ones above, like even rounded corner ones? I can even make the ones i have above lighter…just no rounded corners for the one above, i would have to make a new button for that :)

I'd like to see what it looks like without the + symbol on the end, and without the exclamation mark at the end of the text. And yes, perhaps a lighter colour, not quite so black.

They look OK - but not perfect - to me. Everyone else seems to like them though, which is the most important thing.

Edit: Not too sure about the red/green in the corner either :P

can i have some (#--) colors that you would like to see and ill make the new buttons with just those colors, and i could leave out the red and black, i just thought it would be cool because its this website colors like how it matches the green and red at the top of the page. Im starting the new buttons now, so just leave me those colors :)

i like the 3rd set of buttons, nice and round! i think if you make writing a darker colour it would stand out more. also, instead of wrting Create A Page, i think it would be better to have the "A" in lower case, like Create a Page. i just think it looks better. they look really great!

Edit 1: Is it possible to incorporate a Nintendo DS lite or a CycloDS flash cart into the buttons? If it's too difficult, don't worry about it ;-)

Edit 2: Or perhaps a speech bubble coming out of the forum-related buttons, and similar images for the other buttons?

Sure ill make some DS ones, are your cyclods images in .png format at all because that would make it easier, and if you could possibly make one that is 32x32 that would be cool :) if not ill just use some nintendo DS icons :)

Right, now you can just use this syntax:

Unfortunately the downfall for this CSS method is that the on-hover image is not loaded when the page loads, but is only loaded when it's needed. That means that at first, the image takes a few seconds to load. But once it's in the browser cache it works fine.

You will need to create a page on your site and then include that page for this.

When a set of buttons is chosen, I'll make the files as small as possible to reduce loading times. For now we're just testing them though.

@leiger: I recommend CSS-Sprites, that's a lot faster. The Hover-Image of your 3rd button style took 1 second to load with my internet conenction (It's very fast!).

Yes, that'd be ideal. Froopi would have to make them like that though, as I haven't got time at the moment to combine them myself.

I'm thinking that the create page / upload skin buttons would be better with their icons swapped around. Other than that, they look great :)

Tomorrow I'll be making 2 more sets, mostly the ones you want, like switching the icons around. The next 2 sets should be some different buttons, and how would you feel about a red background for the buttons? I could make an extra set for that too :)

Could you create just one image for each button, for these new sets that you plan on making?

Both states should be included in the same image, so that they both load when the page does. The background will just be shifted using CSS to show the hover state when the mouse is over it.

e.g.

(both in same image)

or

(both in the same long image)

I'll be done with the buttons soon, I've just been busy with redesigning the look of my website, mostly because I changed the name of the site, and also because leiger requested it, I also got rid of most of the hacks from my site. The site is now called the "PS3 Index" and now the only real mods for it is the ps3 themes. Anyway, awesome new buttons coming to CycloDS Revolution!
