Do I need a GBA emulator...
29 Dec 2010 20:42 (29 Dec 2010 20:42) in response to General Discussion
Alrighty, I'm looking to play gba and gbc roms off of my DS, I have a cyclods and it's awesome so I'm going to get an EZ Flash 3-in-1 in order to play my gba and gbc roms. My question is, do I need to put a GBA emulator on my cyclods (like in the root menu, or create it's own file), or will attaching the 3-in-1 allow me to put the gameboy roms on my games list an play them? I use the visual boy advanced.

All of the other games work fine, and I'ver switched the microsd card, and even used my brother's cyclo and it all freezes only with that game… it's really weird.

How do I reformat it? I'm not familiar with doing things like that. The HG/SS are the US version

I restarted the game after deleting my old save manually and started it fresh with no codes, and as soon as i hit a pokemon center, I get a black screen freeze. Same thing with gold. Any ideas on what to do? At this point I'm just getting frustrated, I've never had to buy a ds game before, and I hope I dont have to start now… lol…

Thank you for the warm welcome. So, I should not use either of them? Could that be the reason that the game is freezing? I could restart the game I was only like an hour in, so thats no big deal, but if I do not use any cheating or pokesavs, should my game play through without freezing?

alrighty, awesome, I downloaded the pokesav and used it, I put all three starters in but sadly my pokedex wont recognize two of the ones i didnt choose… but anyway, I haven't played long enough to see if it freezes again, but just by using the pokesav on something like that, my game won't freeze anymore?
UPDATE Yeah it's still freezing, I have the newest firmware and am using a pokesav. Is there a particular way to use the pokesav that will prevent this?

the only cheat I use is the blackscreen fix which I need or it freezes everytime I go into a building. What do you mean by use the pokesav? is that a download or do you mean just save normally?

Hey guys I'm new to the site. I've never really had a problem with a game before, but pokemon soulsilver and heartgold keep freezing at random moments. I put the new codes in, but whenever I play for more than fifteen minutes the game freezes. I find myself having to save very frequently so when it happens I dont loose a lot of data. I searched the website up in the corner to see if there were any similar problems but all that it came up with was the austalian release of the game? Is anyone else having this problem? And how can I fix it?
