I just checked the history - and the name was definitely added when the post was created, not later.
So if you saw "Anonymous" instead, that suggests that there may be a bit of a delay before the name entered by the author is being picked up. Can't think of any reason why though :S
I will try to remember to sign any anon posts with my name in future as well, in case the name field isn't picked up immediately.
