i think it would be good for moderators if anything is needed editing or if more information on something is neccesary

I've never needed to post in a locked thread here, but having this feature would mean that it would become more like a standard forum.
Would you just keep the default add post button or a separate icon to show that it's locked? (A separate icon that we could see, as others would keep the "thread locked" icon.

Yeah well the 'thread locked' button needs to be shown somehow, otherwise moderators wouldn't even realise that a thread has been locked.
How about we use the same button, the locked thread one, but for moderators it's a link to create a new post, and for regular users it's just an image?

I was just thinking the same thing; Fattass had the locked icon while still allowing us to make a new post, I'd assume this is what it's like on TC and GBAtemp (though no-one here can verify GBAtemp's).

Currently the way it works is that if a thread is locked… nobody can edit replies, or post a new reply. Not even moderators. The only way for me or anyone else to make changes is to unlock the thread first, then lock it again afterwards if we need to.
So, the question: Do you think moderators should be allowed to create new posts in a locked thread?
This is an open question, to moderators of the website, as well as the regular users (as I want your opinion and thoughts on this too).

Edit: The way this would work, is that moderators would still be shown the 'add post' button, even if the thread is locked. It would appear just underneath the 'locked thread' image.
