I'm really having trouble getting the Pokemon Black ROM to work on my CycloDS. I don't have a clue of where I'm going wrong, so I'll try to post absolutely everything I've done and see if you can guide me through the correct steps.

My situation:
-I am using the Original DS.
-I have the latest stable firmware (1.59) for my CycloDS.
-I am nearly positive I have the clean, unpatched, Japanese version of Pokemon Black.
-I was told the clean version of the game was named b-pokemonb.nds and that is the download I found.
-I have the newest cheat database from GBAtemp.
-Everything is in the correct place and I have any optional settings useable on the original DS disabled (However cheatcodes are enabled).

-Once I load my Cyclo, I go to activate the cheats for Pokemon Black and start the game. Once I click start to play the game, I get the Cyclo's loading bar and then as it attempts to run Pokemon Black I only 2 white screens (There has not been one point yet where I have seen any successful or even a partial load of the rom). There are 2 cheats that I have attempted using multiple times with multiple clean roms and multiple patched roms. The cheat names are as read on the DS:

1)Disable No Exp AP
Credits to 2ch
2)No$gba Fix
No saving or loading! Credits to Mastermind_X

-I've tried using 1 of each cheat and loading the game, both cheats and loading the game, and even disabling all cheats and loading the game. All of which have been unsuccessful. If I could get a walk through or some tips of how I can get the rom to load properly, please help me. I would prefer to use the English patched version, so if you can guide me through that one instead of the Japanese version I would appreciate that most.

was this the anonymous i was speaking to on the chatroom a couple of days ago?
these are the only options i can think that you should do.

1. make sure you only use the Disable No Exp AP, not the No$gba fix.
2. you're using firmware 1.59 right? the firmware i'm using is the new gui beta, B.4. my Pokemon Black and White work perfectly on tis firmware, so i suggest updating to it.

after doing these, they should work! this is what i've done, so if it doesn't work, just post something here and i'll look into it even more. hope this helps! :D

i have no idea whether this would affect the game at all, but there are a couple of other variables.

1. i have a Nintendo DS lite.
2. if you update to B.4 (GUI BETA), go to the options menu and change the cheat activation back to the old setting where it asks to activate cheats when selecting the game.

I downloaded the new GUI and it didn't change anything. Then I tried it on a DS Lite. Still, I only get white screens.

I did just notice that once I start my game, it auto-creates a save file even though the game never initiated. Could this be problematic?

It wasn't making saves when I was doing this the other night.

yes, that could be the problem. see whether you can stop it making auto-saves.
also, make sure the saves are 512kb in size. you can edit this by opening up the menu using the Y button when selecting the game.

also, have you installed the EvoCheat Editor that lets you edit cheats?
if you have, make sure you turn of Global Trimming.

Now that we are getting more users due to the TC forums being down, a lot are starting to break the rules. Keep in mind we've got a similar no-piracy rule here to what was in effect on the Team Cyclops forums.

I will make the rules easier to find first. It's not fair for me to do anything if you haven't read them.

Fingerz, I'm thankful that you're attempting to help me. I still have to try those suggestions. Although I don't have the EvoCheat Editor because I haven't been able to find it since TC is down. I'll get back to you once I try that out.
Popochan, I appologize for not seeing your response sooner. I wasn't aware that the chat on this site lasts for days otherwise I would've checked there first. However, the information you gave was still unhelpful to my situation.
Leiger, I was wrong to ask for a link however I was mildly desperate seeing as I'm super frustrated with my situation. I cannot figure out where I am going wrong and through countless suggestions, nothing seems to work. But I won't ask for links anymore.

Yes, have a look in the main menu. It's "Sections" then "Downloads".

Not only is the CycloDS Evo cheat editor uploaded there, but a ton of other useful apps and homebrew is as well :)

hmm, the real problem here is that I could not find a "disable no exp" code for the european version, so far all post that I've read only for the japanese version, do you mind helping me suggest another solutions?

You can use the patch of retrogamefan. On my Cyclo with v1.61 and his patch it works perfectly.

I'm not sure if wi-fi still works after the patch. You have to try it out.

Try B.7 (dunno where B.6 went). Pokemon Black/White works perfectly on this firmware.

i got the same problem, when i run pokemon white it loads some back up files and both the screens turn white. i got the R4 and idk what's causing the problem

I had tonnes of problems with pokemon freezing on me, especially when entering shops or withdrawing pokemon etc.

The problem was the file had got corrupted somehow (the pokemon nds file). I deleted it from the cyclo (but kept the save file on the cyclo), then put the original pokemon nds file back into the cyclo (the one i originaly had downloaded) and it works great now.

Hey Rez,

I recommend switching to 2.30 instead, as it is a more recent firmware. Not only will Pokemon Black work fine, but many other games will as well (and you'll have access to the new GUI).
