Would it be possible to add a "view new posts" buttons to the forums? That is my primary way of viewing forums. Forums that don't have that function tend not to be used much by me, it's just the way I am.

I would love to do that… but unfortunately it's not possible with this customised forum.
The closest thing I can do is to provide a list of all posts for the last 24 hours, or last 48 hours. If you visit every 1 or 2 days, it should be close enough?
It would also be a great help if you could rate this wish (feature request) up higher: http://feedback.wikidot.com/wish:427 - if it is popular enough it may be accepted and eventually implemented by Wikidot, which would allow me to add what you are requesting.

Along with making the home page a little less stressful for those on slow connections (fixing the slideshow as requested by fallenleader), I'll also be making a few minor improvements to the forums as soon as I can find the time.
Following the addition of a new feature by Wikidot earlier today (that I've been waiting on for quite some time), I am now able to add some extra links to forum posts (e.g. PM and Profile links). I'll also be improving the way signatures work on the back-end.
If you have any suggestions to share regarding the forum, post them here. I can quite easily change a colour, add a drop shadow or make some corners round using CSS ;-)
