who is actually going to be selling the cycloDSi, everyone's being shut down…. i've heard rumor of american customs doing intercepts on packages too.
13 Dec 2010 03:59
Does anyone know if this place is legit? The price is about the same as the original CycloDS. They say it should ship in a few days.
13 Dec 2010 04:51
that circle thing is weird. what does it do? (unless i've missed that)
13 Dec 2010 05:18
the circle thing is probably an oddly shaped usb mem stick. but who knows, maybe it's an oddly shaped usb wifi hotspot.
13 Dec 2010 05:36
Looks like it is a great item, where is the official site , can anyone send me more info about it , and what is the difference and the highlight of it compared to other flashcards, such as this R4i gold : http://www.digitopz.com/r4i-gold-revolution-for-dsndsindslnds-p-12.html and another ,where is the official seller of iEVO flash cart? thanks !

updater module is fancy words for usb 802.11b device, or wifi hotspot.
provided thats what that thing is.
~edit: i take that back, it's looking like it actually is a USB adapter for the slot-1 itself to update it…?~
13 Dec 2010 21:01
great! i was just wondering why it was so big and circular…
13 Dec 2010 22:39
someone suggested the evo will plug into the circular device… thats possible.

13 Dec 2010 23:31
The big circular "updater module" is a device that updates the CycloDSi's bootstrap. In the event Nintendo makes a DSi Update that blocks the CycloDSi, and if a workaround is found, the bootstrap can be updated to make it work. The Supercard DSONEi has something similar as well.

I was hoping it would have an onboard GBA emulator. Not camera support. Oh well.
14 Dec 2010 00:30
IT WILL HAVE A GBA EMU.
14 Dec 2010 01:42
ah, i see we've encountered the L33T H4MM3R BR0Z Anonymous. :P
14 Dec 2010 13:19
people, please provide sources when stating the device does/will have X-feature?
15 Dec 2010 06:39
titen96: IT WILL HAVE A GBA EMU.
I agree with fallenleader… what is the source of this information? GBA compatibility hasn't yet been verified officially by Team Cyclops.

An update from Team Cyclops (14th December 2010)
A quick clarification in relation to DSi mode for iEVO. Only USA and European consoles will be supported initially in the first iEVO firmware release shipped with the cart. Later firmware builds will support other regions, once our development team has completed the necessary stress testing. Please be assured that only a software firmware update is required, and no additional hardware or hardware revisions will be required to cater for these regions of consoles.
15 Dec 2010 08:21
J-DSi's are running a newer firmware than U/E units, right?
it's an assumption i pulled out of mid-air.
15 Dec 2010 22:19
The question is answered if you look a few posts up. It's an updater module.
A lot of people on GBAtemp have been asking the same thing; it gets frustrating.

The site was updated with a new announcement (20.12.2010) something like an answer after some Gbatemp statements.
« Owing to shortages of one component used in manufacturing the iEVO cartridge, manufacturing has been delayed by about a month, meaning that shipments of the product will first be shipped second week January. We apologize to resellers and customers alike, however this is beyond our control.
Due to an internal miscommunication, we initially erroneously announced that our product in relation to DSi mode homebrew supported access to the DSi internal SD slot. We quickly amended the news post on our website after the posting, to clarify the features list. Regardless, access to the CycloDS iEVO MicroSD slot is obviously available to homebrew software.
In respect of DSi-enhanced ROM support which we promised for future release. Our team has been working hard to implement this feature to reward our loyal customers for their patience and support. We hope to please our users by announcing that BETA support is now in place for properly dumped DSi-enhanced ROM’s and this will be available ON RELEASE of the iEVO (for USA and European consoles). We will continue to improve and support DSi-enhanced ROM’s in the future and of course DSi mode support will be enabled in future iEVO firmwares for remaining regions of DSi consoles. We have seen mention of DSiWare ROM support. We are currently investigating this and hope to be able to support this feature in the future.
We hope that in future, review sites will seek clarification from us before posting unconfirmed news, to avoid confusion and to help protect the reputation of their site. Samples for review and homebrew developers are now being assembled and we will ship before general release to the public! »
The forums are still down but I saw some attempts … last night. Let's hope better days are coming…

Thanks Gh0st, I just checked that myself. A new announcement has been posted and I've updated this one so that it is more accurate.
@ Anonymous: I'm guessing that was fingerz? :)

DarkShinigami34, as of Jan. 10th the item you linked to is still unavailable per their staff member Echo: http://www.ndscardsale.com/forum/product/91832/thread/805
I hope Echo keeps updating that thread will any new developments.
As for the legitimacy of the site, I have no idea. I read reviews ranging them from crap (as in selling fake carts) to great. I took a chance and pre-ordered anyway via a fraud protected credit card. They charged my cc the same day I ordered (which sucks - wish they could have waited until the day it shipped) so I'm still a little worried about it being legit. In the two weeks since I ordered, there have been no unauthorized purchase attempts made against my card.
I will try to revisit this thread to post ship date, arrival date, if cart is real, or if I just plain got screwed and was sent a fake. In the latter case, I will take my business elsewhere like redhotstuff. They get excellent reviews but don't have the item for pre-order yet.

Revolutionary new feature
As promised, Team Cyclops is proud to announce a revolutionary new feature for their soon to be released iEVO flash cart!
Competitor’s devices which support the DSi currently work only in DSL mode, which means that the unique to DSi features such as the camera, improved WiFI, additional RAM, higher clock speed and DSP access are not functional. The iEVO will be the first flash cart on the market to enable this functionality, starting with homebrew applications and later support for commercial ROM’s!
There are many potential uses for these features and we’re sure that the Homebrew scene will be delighted to support this functionality.
Free iEVO unit for Homebrew developers
Team Cyclops will gladly supply legitimate Homebrew application coders with a free iEVO unit to aid development. Please send an e-mail to moc.spolcycmaet|selas#moc.spolcycmaet|selas for more information. You are asked to provide details of previous applications or DS programs that you have coded.
