Seriously, what's with the sudden massive drop? IT'S AMAZING!!
In Melbourne, they've dropped from $380 to $190. I would buy one if I wasn't waiting for the next version of 3DS to be released.
I've heard there are quite a few things that could be improved with the 3DS, especially battery life, but do you think it'd be worth it now? I mean, The Legend of Zelda 3D is $40 for crying out loud!! I'm almost crying at the price of this stuff!!

I've had it since launch and it's not too bad. A battery expansion can double the life if that's what your worried about. Now that there are more games being released, it's not a bad time to pick one up. I don't think the next version will add much unless it's like a 3DS-XL or something. The current 3DS is about the size of the DS lite. Any problems with it can be fixed under warranty by Nintendo. I still don't have many games for it but I don't think that will be a problem going into next year.

Alrighty, I'll buy one! Considering the fact that Pokemon Rumble Blast, Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 are coming out soon, it's the best time to buy one! :D

Nope, never heard of it before now. Been busy.

Based on what I read about it today, I'll probably buy it. Sounds more interesting than those "Mystery Dungeon" games, but not necessarily as good as the regular adventure games like Black/White. Will have to wait and see.

My original DS is falling apart and my CycloDS Evolution doesn't work with my 3DS. If someone were able to make a update for the CycloDS Evolution allowing it to run on the 3DS, they would a hero to many. I'm surprised they still sell CycloDS Evolution despite it now being worthless and incompatible unless it can be updated somehow to work with the newer system.

@Anonymous: I wouldn't exactly consider the CycloDS Evolution to be "worthless", if it works with the older hardware. Many people still use those devices, so it is useful to them.

However in the case of the Nintendo 3DS, no flashcard is compatible with the system at the moment. One came close and was going to be released in early 2011, but that ended up failing and we're 1.5 years after that point with no solution available.

The way 3DS is going, flashcards may not even be needed any more. The 3DS system actually has a half-decent UI. Finally, Nintendo released quality software alongside their handheld offering.

Also, many future games may actually be downloadable directly from the store in addition to being available on a card in physical stores. They essentially hinted at that this year at E3. That'd directly address the issue with carrying so many damn game cards around, if the games were actually stored on your console instead.

Ever since buying a 3DS (soon after launch), I haven't even had a need for a flashcard.
