Well the slideshow changes automatically (that's why it's a "slideshow") so you don't really need to use the arrows…

How often do you end up using them? :S

its been a while since this has been replied but i still want the buttoms to be more transperant, the main reason is that if im trying to go to a certain slide for a link i accidentally click the wrong one, thats why i want the transperancy to be decreased

I've just tried everything I possibly can… changing CSS and changing the image that's being used, but nothing is working for me at the moment. Please check and tell me if you see black or white arrows?

Okay. So my attempts to change it did nothing :S Will delete the image later instead of just renaming it… see if I can force it to use the one I want it to … once I get the black one working I'll know I've figured out how to do it and can add a more suitable colour in there.
